About the College
Established in 2003, the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CCTCMA) is a comprehensive educational institution registered with the Ministry of Advanced Education of Alberta, the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta, Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC), and the Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association (CMMOTA). It seamlessly integrates teaching, medical care, research, and the promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
The college currently offers three programs: the Acupuncture Diploma Program, the 2200-Hour Massage Diploma Program, and the TCM Diploma Program, all conducted in English. Students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships and grants from the Alberta provincial government and the Canadian federal government. Additionally, the college holds approval from the Canadian federal government as a Designated Learning Institution (DLI: O111917070547) for international students. Our esteemed faculty includes professors, associate professors, lecturers, and Ph.D. holders in Traditional Chinese Medicine from around the world, highly esteemed for their expertise. They are passionately dedicated to teaching with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a sincere commitment to helping every student excel in their skills.

In its two decades of educational excellence, the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture has embraced the core philosophy of ‘inheritance and innovation’ in Chinese acupuncture and traditional medicine. Deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of China and traditional Chinese medicine, the college places a strong emphasis on its fundamental mission of education. Over the years, it has nurtured a multitude of professionals, including Chinese massage therapists, acupuncturists, and advanced Chinese medicine practitioners, significantly contributing to the growth of Chinese medicine in Calgary and North America, earning a well-deserved reputation.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide our students with high quality, authentic education in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. We strive to maintain standards of education comparable to Acupuncture and TCM programs in China.
The Programs
The Programs offered at CCTCMA provide an authentic education in TCM and acupuncture, and are designed to prepare students for TCM and acupuncture licensing examinations around the world.
Our Goal
Our goal is to impart the knowledge and skills of TCM and acupuncture to our students, ensuring that they can practice successfully anywhere in the world in the future. Our faculty is highly educated, holding master’s and doctorate degrees in acupuncture and TCM, and they have decades of practical experience to share with CCTCMA students

Accreditation
Acupuncture Diploma
Approved by College of Acupuncturists of Alberta. The College of Acupuncturists of Alberta has the authority to approve acupuncture education programs. Individuals who obtain a diploma from these programs satisfy section 3(a)(1) and 3(b)(1) of the Acupuncturist Professional Regulation.
Alberta Advanced Education (Alberta Learning): The Acupuncture Diploma Program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid.
