What are the benefits of choosing the Acupuncture program of CCTCMA over others offered in Canada?
- Our faculty members are more than qualified. The majority of our faculty members have a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and have at least 15 years of working and teaching experience in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada and China.
- Our programs were developed based on our teaching experiences of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Australia, Canada, the USA, and China. These programs have been running successfully for over twenty years in Northern America and about fifty years in China.
- Classes are small.
- Student loans are available.
- We are pleased to offer our own, uniquely designed Study Guides for almost every subject. This helps our students learn Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture easily.
- Our student clinic is very busy, therefore, there is a lot of “hands-on practice” of acupuncture available to our students.
- Studying is full time, from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. You will get the training you pay for.

Are Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Regulated in Alberta?
Currently, only Acupuncture is regulated and available for licensure in Alberta. BC also recognizes and provides licensure for a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Do you offer online or distance learning courses? And Why?
From March 2022, we started to offer a combination of in person and online learning for the theory courses due to the situation of COVID in Alberta. Those policies will be updated following the announcement of the professional authorities and the government of Alberta.
Are you accreted and are you eligible for the student financial support?
Acupuncture Diploma
- Approved by College of Acupuncturists of Alberta. The College of Acupuncturists of Alberta has the authority to approve acupuncture education programs. Individuals who obtain a diploma from these programs satisfy section 3(a)(1) and 3(b)(1) of the Acupuncturist Professional Regulation.
- Alberta Advanced Education (Alberta Learning): The Acupuncture Diploma Program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid.
- Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture’s Designated Learning Institution number (DLI#) is O111917070547. A designated learning institution is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students.
- Accepted by Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, China.
