Student Complaint and Dispute Resolution Process
We recommend that the student always try to resolve issues informally. If a formal approach is necessary, CCTCMA provides a fair and reasonable procedure for resolution.
Students complaint and dispute resolution process on personal issues
- The student must try to resolve the grievance directly with the other parties, such as the specific student, staff or faculty member involved. If the student could not resolve the complaint, go to the next step.
- Submit your written complaint to a person designated by CCTCMA. The designated person will require submission from all parties involved including witnesses. The designated person will conduct an investigation and set up a meeting to resolve the issue as early as practically possible. The designated person will also provide a resolution in writing as early as practically possible to all parties. If the issue could not be resolved, go to the next step.
- Repeat the above step with the President of CCTCMA. If no resolution, go to the next step.
- An outside arbitrator/mediator will be appointed within ten (10) business days. The decision of the outside arbitrator/mediator will be final.
Student complaint and dispute resolution process on CCTCMA policies and regulation
- Students dissatisfied with the application of an academic policy or regulation to their own status, other than grade or student discipline, are entitled to a review by the President of CCTCMA. If still dissatisfied after the review, go to the next step.
- Submit your written complaint to the President of CCTCMA. The complaint will be presented to the Faculty Council. The decision of the Faculty Council will be the final.
Please be advised that while CCTCMA wants to assist and support our students, if any personal conflicts between students escalate to the point of legal mediation/action the resolution is the sole responsibility of the parties involved and not CCTCMA’s.
Any attempts at defamation of CCTCMA due to upset from how a dispute resolution concluded will not be tolerated and will be pursued with the full extent of the law.
