Course Description
This course provides the student with the basic diagnostic components in TCM. It includes four diagnostic methods of TCM, application of various TCM differentiation methods and writing TCM case records. The basic skills of observation, auscultation, consultation and palpation will be introduced.
Course Objective
Upon completion of this course, you shall be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the contents of the basic skills of observation, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, palpation and pulse diagnosis
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to the eight guiding principles
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills of the differentiation of syndromes according to etiology
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills of differentiation of syndromes according to qi, blood and body fluids
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills of differentiation of syndromes according to zang and fu organs
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills of differentiation of syndromes according to the theory of six meridians
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills of differentiation of syndromes according to wei, qi, ying and blood and san jiao, and
- Demonstrate the ability to take and write up case records in Chinese medicine
